UTILIZATION OF SOCIAL NETWORK SERVICES IN ACADEMIC ACTIVITIES AND POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND: APPROACH OF THE JAPANESE CIRCULATION SOCIETY

Department of Cardiology, International University of Health and Welfare Graduate School of Medicine, Okawa, Japan

Takuya Kishi

Public relations, information dissemination, and discussion utilizing X (formerly Twitter) have long been active in international medical societies but have rarely taken place in Japan, despite the fact that many individual physicians are actively utilizing X. Under such circumstances, the author joined the Information and Communication Committee, and the Japanese Circulation Society officially created an action guideline for official X activities, established steering members, and started official X activities in 2018. Over the past five years, we have been able to conduct activities that had not been possible in Japan previously. I review the official X activities during the past five years, including problems, and consider the future of official X activities in medical societies in Japan.
