INFECTION IN LIVER TRANSPLANT RECIPIENTS

Despite the advances in liver transplantation, infection continues to be a major problem, with an incidence greater than that observed in other solid organ transplantations. The risk of infection is largely determined by the patient's preoperative condition, operative factors, and the status of immunosuppression. Here we describe the current understanding of bacterial, viral, and fungal infection in patients who underwent liver transplantation.
