Isolated aneurysm of the iliac artery is considered to be a rare disorder, although iliac aneurysm associated with abdominal aortic aneurysm is more common. Its clinical diagnosis is difficult, because symptoms are absent if an aneurysm is small, and because symptoms often mimic urogenital, neurological or gastrointestinal diseases if an aneurysm grows large without repture. We reported a 40-year-old woman with isolated aneurysm of the left external iliac artery caused by giant cell arteritis, and surgically treated with success.
