CURRENT STATUS OF AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVES ON ROBOTIC PANCREATECTOMY
Growing evidence on robotic pancreatectomy has been reported from the West. However, the introduction and dissemination of robotic pancreatectomy in Japan have been relatively late in comparison. Furthermore, no standardized protocol and structured training system for robotic pancreatectomy exist in Japan. Since robotic pancreatectomy requires advanced surgical skills as well as sufficient knowledge of both pancreatic and robotic surgery, the surgical training system and standardized surgical techniques of robotic pancreatectomy are important. Here, we present the current status and our experience of robotic pancreatectomy, including a standardized protocol for surgical techniques and surgical training model.
