ROBOTIC PACREATODUODENECTOMY: STATE OF THE ART AND FUTURE PERSPECTIVE

With the listing for coverage by Japanese insurance in April 2020, robot-assisted pancreaticoduodenectomy is rapidly becoming widespread. Pancreaticoduodenectomy is a complex procedure with a high incidence of complications. In order to spread and develop this technique safely, it is necessary to properly recognize the current situation and issues of this technique and improve it methodically. Since experiencing the first case in 2009, we have faced various problems and modified the procedure while referring not only to our own cases but also to reports from other facilities. We summarize the recently reported findings on this technique and describe the current issues and future prospects.
