Questionnaires about gender equality in board certification program, councilors, officers, members of committees, and female doctor supports system were done for all the 123 branches of the Japanese Association of Medical Science (June, 2015). The answer rate was 100% (123/123). The numbers of both female doctor members and female new members were increased compared to the 2011 questionnaires. The increasing speed was slightly higher than that of 2008 to 2011 1)2). However, the proportion of female members (16.4%) and female new members (24.7%) was not increased. The proportion of female certified doctors (15.5%) was around the same as the proportion of female members. The proportion of female councilors was slightly increased (8.4%), but the low proportion of female councilors (1.3%) in surgical society was remarkable in worse. Gender equality was slightly advanced, however, more acceleration is needed.
