The telephone has been the most readily available tool for information sharing in general clinical practice. However, information sharing using the telephone has several drawbacks in terms of connection failures, limited information spread, implementation of group conferences, and visual information sharing. To resolve these issues, a social networking service (SNS), Teams, was adopted in our department in 2021. Based on our experience over the past three years, a questionnaire survey on the benefit of information sharing using SNS was conducted. SNS use was reported to have considerable advantages regarding immediate and diffuse information spread. Additionally, it was suggested that SNS can reduce physicians’ physical and mental burdens via various mechanisms and contribute to the improvement of their work–life balance.
