CLINICAL GUIDELINES FOR THE MANAGEMENT OF LUNG CANCER AND EVALUATION FROM CLINICAL PRACTICE

Department of Surgery, Jikei University School of Medicine, Tokyo, Japan

Toshiaki Morikawa

"Clinical Guidelines for the Management of Lung Cancer" are the first published general guidelines for practical lung cancer treatment in Japan. This booklet is beneficial for assembling related information, decision making on courses of treatment, and obtaining informed consent from patients. Because evidence is weighed thoroughly, current areas of interest are less strongly recommended. In the treatment of intractable lung cancer, such guidelines should continue to be updated with advances in clinical trials so that they remain beneficial.
