Stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT) is a highly effective treatment for brain metastases from non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Primary lesions of NSCLC may also be controlled by SRT. Between 1994 and 1999, 50 patients with pathologically confirmed T1-2N0 M0 NSCLC were treated with SRT. With a median follow-up period of 36 months, 3-year cause-specific survival was 88%. SRT is a very safe and effective treatment for early stage NSCLC.
