Case report

A CASE OF RETROPERITONEAL LYMPHANGIOMA:SUCCESSFULLY TREATED BY PANCREATODUODENECTOMY

A rare case of retroperitoneal lymphangioma in 44-year-old male complaining of high fever and right hypochondralgia is reported. Retroperitoneal malignant tumor was suspected preoperatively, and pancreatoduodenectomy was performed because the tumor infiltrated to duodenum and head of the pancreas.
Histopathological examination revealed that the tumor was lymphangioma infiltrating to the duodenum.
There are two types of lymphangioma, solitary lymphatic cyst and true proliferating lymphangioma and in this case, the tumor is diagnosed as true proliferating lymphangioma which is cavernors and infiltrating.
