Recent advences in cancer chemotherapy yielded a beautiful results in the multidisciplinary treatment for several cancers to which lung surgery has been contributing. Lung resection for pulmonary metastases from elsewhere showed good five year survival rates. Especially, metastases from osteogenic sarcomas and testicular germ cell tumors became a very proper target for the multidisciplinary treatment including lung surgery and probably metastases from breast cancers too. In regard to the primary lung cancer, so-called adjuvant surgery for small cell carcinoma will be a good model for this type of treatment. We have started a trial and been getting a promissing result.
