Ednoscopic surgery consists of the employment of basic surgical techniques, such as incision, resection and hemostasis via the endoscope. We have treated 5 cases with electrosurgery and 12 cases with Neodynium-YAG laser surgery in the tracheobronchial tree, all through the flexible fiberoptic bronchoscope. Our experience indicates that this method could play a major role in the treatment of such cases of external trauma or inflammatory stenosis of the trachea and bronchus. furthermore, this method was recognized as safe and effective adjuvant therapy in combination with major surgery, radiation therapy and chemotherapy in the treatment of stenosis due to malignant tumor. It has also the advantage of limited invasiveness. The importance of the selection of indications is emphasized.
