THE PAST, PRESENT AND FUTURE ON CORONARY ARTERY SURGERY

The procedure of coronary surgery, while new, have introduced a new inclination for the management of angina pectoris, myocardial infarction and its complication (ventricular aneurysm, mitral regurgitation, ventricular septal defect and cardiac rupture).
At present, a point of coronary surgery is the problems for the advanced age, medical versus surgical therapy, cardiogenic shock and emergency case. Emergency surgical treatment of patient with cardiogenic shock has assumed increasing important.
As a results of remarkable advancement made of late in research and development of clinical application of the mechanical circulatory assistance (IABP, ECP), its clinical applications has gradually been extend.
For this reason, there has been a simultaneous approach to be the problem or staging that is leading to a more successful management. Coronary surgery will be, in the future, a standardized procedure and wil continue to increase in Japan, too.
