EVALUATION OF ANASTOMOTIC TECHNIC OF ESOPHAGOGASTROSTOMY
An experimental comparative study among three anastomotic technics of gastroesophagostomy, which are Albert-Lembert suture, layer to layer suture and Olsen's single layer suture, was carried out to evaluate the bursting pressure, the tensile strength or the histological findings. Olsen's single layer suture and layer to layer suture which made the submucosal layers face each other showed better wound healing at the anastomosis than Albert-Lembert suture. Especially, Olsen's single layer suture indicated the best wound healing figures.
A clinical study showed that the rate of anastomotic leakage following Albert-Lembert suture was 30%, but it decreased to 12.5% by employment of layer to layer suture and to 7.3% by Olsen's single layer suture.
As the conclusion, Olsen's single layer suture seemed to be the best anastomotic technic in terms of wound healing for the esophagogastrostomy.
