One hundred and twenty-eight cases of renal transplantation have been performed in our clinic to date. The present staus of rehabilitation in a series of 61 allograft recipients surviving over one year after grafting was evaluated.
Eighty-two percent of these patients are able to engage in full time work, and 67.3% are able to return to their previous occupations. These values are much higher than for patients undergoing dialysis (33%). All children undergoing renal transplantation returned to school and developed well physically.
