The definition, diagnostic criteria and classification of normal pressure hydrocephalus (N.P.H.) were followed on course of the recent studies. And then the own experienced clinical three cases of primary N.P.H. and other similar four hydrocephalic cases on CT scan in adults were presented. There were normal protein contents and no evidence of inflammation on immunoglobulins in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) before A-V shunt operation. HVA content of monoamines in CSF obtained from lumbar puncture were lower values than the controls; 5-HIAA content in the same specimens was within normal or higher levels with wide variations before shunting. Valin, isoleucine and alanin in free aminoacids showed significantly high levels in CSF obtained from lumbar puncture before operations.
