A STUDY OF PROGNOSIS OF INTRAMUCOSAL GASTRIC CANCER
In 168 cases of single intramucosal cancer of the sotmach treated by gastrectomy in 1968-1975 at Tokyo Women's Medical College, 1 year survval result was 100%, 2 years 98.6% 3 years 97.5%, 4 years 97.1%, and 5 years 92.5%.
Analysis of factors affecting prognosis of intramucosal gastric cancer was performed.
These factors were sex, age, macroscopic type, greatest diameter of tumor, location, site, operation method, macroscopic and microscopic degree of lymph nodes metastasis, invasion of lymphatic vessels in the gastric wall, invasion of veins in the gastric wall, histological type, and infiltrative growth of tumor into the surrounding tissue.
Sex, age, macroscopic type, greatest diameter of tumor, site, macroscopic and histological lymph nodes metastasis, invasion of lymphatic vessels in the gastric wall and histological type were proved to have relations with survival rate.
On the other hand, site and invasion of veins in the gastric wall were proved to have no relations with survival rate.
