Using 43 mongrel dogs and 34 patients, the renal functions were studied under hypothermic anesthesia comparing with normothermic cases.
Results obtained were as follows :
1) Changes of the renal functions with hypothermia were completely reversible and there were neither organic changes nor functional disahilities.
3) Jemporal renal disturbances were founol following total circulatory cessation over 1 hour at 20°C, 30 minites at 25°C.
3) Hypothermia alexiated disturbances of postoperative renal functions which developed wnder normothermic anesthesia.
4) These climical and experimental studies indicated not only to the cases neded circulatory cessation but the cases of poor risk, that is renal insufficiency patients, aged, and hypertensive patients etc.
