STUDY ON THE ETIOLOGY OF THE BANTI DISEASE II. THE FORMATION OF THE AUTO-ANTIBODY AND SERUM-ANTICOMPLEMENT ACTIVITY
In the experimental study on the etiology of the Banti Disease, the author describes serologically that the auto-antibody and serum-anticomplement activity were recognized. Then, I reasoned the possibility of the existence of allergic mechanism in the Santi Disease.
The results of the study are summarised below.
(1) The auto-antibody which reacts upon auto or hemo-spleen and liver etc., and anti-complement activity appeared in serum of the sensitized rabbits with albumin for a long term.
(2) The auto-antibody exits in normal rabbits, but it reacts mainly upon polysaccharid.
(3) The auto-antibody which has appeared by the sensitization, reacts upon the extracted phosphazid by the spleen, liver and erythrocyte, and also upon cardiolipin.
The latter has something interesting with the natur of Wasserman-Reaction.
(4) Six cases in the 19 Banti cases proved auto-antibody which reacts on the spleen.
(5) The serum anti-complement activity appeared according to the sensitization, but was especially remarkable in it for a long term.
(6) Four cases in 19 Banti cases showed a slight anti-complement activity.
