We divided experimental dogs into four groups according to quantity of the resected liver.
The portal tention and portal blood flow do not so varies as far as 80% resection, but at about 90% resection decompensation of the portal circulation develop promptly.
Also, as far as 80% resection, we think that the portal circulation maintain nearly normaly by compensations of the intrahepatic circulation.
For the purpose of it, by means of rapid serial angiography, the vascular arrangement in the liver has been studied.
The characteristic manifestration were as follows:
1) Portal blood does not always perfuse the entire liver, the circulation is maintained through the hilar region of the liver. So-called cutting feature of portal branch . Cutting feature of peripheral branch appears after 40-70% hepatcctomy.
2) The fleeted and abnormal remained shadow of the contrast medium appear around the cutting feature of the portal branch.
3) Rapid appearance of the inferior caval vein shadow.
4) Refluence feature of the extrahepatic portal branch.
5) Others.
