1. In 24 dogs, after acute anemia was made by subcutaneous injection of phenylhidragine and exanguination, isoleucine and leucine were given. Effects of these drugs were studied comparing with the control group. In 20 patients of leucopenia by Nitrogenmastard N-oxide injection, most of them diagnosed as malignant tumor, isoleucine was given intravenously. Cystine was given in 10 patients of the similar symptoms. Effects of these drugs were studied comparing with the control group (10 patients).
2. The administration of isoleucine was very effective for the recovery of the acute anemia, especially formation of haemoglobin in dogs. Leucine did not show the similar effects. In patients the administration of isoleucine was relatively effective for the anemia, but cystine did not show the similar effects.
3. For the recovery of leucopenia in patients the administration of isoleucine is remarkably effective. Although the administration of cystine was effective, isoleucine was more effective than the former.
4. When isoleucine and cystine were administered, percentage of lymphocytes in peripheral blood was closely related to the weight of γ-globuline in plasma.
5. By the intravenous administration of isoleucine, albumine was increased in plasma resulting increase of A/G proportion in most patients. By the administration of cystine, decrease of globuline, especially γ-globuline, was remarkable in most patients.
