Many various distructions are caused by ascaris. It's causation is dued not only to the toxin of the ascaris, but also to the host which plays an important role to the affected distruction. So the author studied on the function of the autonomous nerves by using the ascaris-extract from pigs in various experiments and the results are as follows.
The higher the tonus of the parasympathic nerves than that of the sympathic nerves, the greater the change of the automatic movement of the excised appendix by the ascaris extract would be If the difference of the tonus between both autonomous nerves is small, the change would be slight. The correlation between the difference of the tonus and the movement is γ =0.74. Moreover, the author has noticed that the ascaris-extract works at the end of the parasympathic nerves on the excised intestine of animals. (author's abstract)
