STUDY ON MECHANISM OF INHIBITION OF SPREADING FACTOR BY SHWARTZMAN FILTRATE INJECTION

II. Surgical Dept., Tokyo University (Director: Prof. T. Fukuda)

Itsuku SHIGA

The Author studied on the influence of Shwartzman Filtrate Injection upon intra-dermal injected Spreading Factor (Testiculer Hyaluronidase) and Hyaluronidase inhibitor level in blood plasma.
Conclusion was as followsd :
1) The sub cutaneous injection of Shwartzman Filtrate inhibits the intra-dermal diffusion of Spreading Factor, and this effect is manifested remarkably in 2-3 hrs. after the injection of Shwartzman Filtrate.
2) Hyaluronidase inhibitor level in rabbit blood plasma is elevated in short time (30 min~1 hr.) after the subcutaneous injection of Shwartzman Filtrate.
3) From those facts, it is suggested that one of the mechanism of the inhibition for spreading factor after the injection of Shwartzman Filtrate is due to the elevation of hyaluronidase inhibitor level in blood plasma.
