A STUDY ON THE INITIATING FACTOR DURING ELECTRIFICATION SHOCK

By passing low voltage of electricty, from 8,000~10,000 Joules, between both thighs of rabbits a state of shock due to it was noticed. It is confirmed that, by estimating the blood amino-N, pH, CO2, etc, this shock resembles with the traumatic shock.
But, furthermore, no shock was noticed in rabbits in which the spinal transection or the splanchnectomy were performed previously.
Therefore, the impulse from the local lesions is transmitted to the centrum as a centripetal impulse and the impulse generated by the unbalance of the centrum is distributed centrifugally by passing the splanchnic nerves from which results the shock. The shock which is controlled by splanchnectomy is promoted extremely by the suprarenalectomy.
