CLINICAL AND EXPERIMENTAL STUDIES ON PROTEIN DEPLETION
(THE VALUE OF THE BLOOD-CHEMICAL EXAMINATION)
In the experimental study of the hypoproteinism of the dog and through observations of the recovery from low nutrition of human body, those results were obtained ;
(1) THb and TA show the conditon of malnutrition most readily as they are pararell with the tissue protein.
(2) The change of THb and TA in malnutrition is illustrated as follows;
note; THb alwayws follows straight line either in the progressing or recovery phase. This means THb is more useful than TA in the diagnosis of hypoproteinism.
(3) Concerning GB, GP, Ht and A/G etc., each of them alone is not reliable as for the estimation of malnutrition, as a whole.
The author suggests THb is most useful in the mesurement of nutritional condition and TA next.
A table is offered by the author to iilustrate the nutritional states for clinical use.
The table was proved to be very useful for pre-and post-surgical care of patients in various occasions.
