The classification of types for the esophageal cancer can be evaluated through the total analysis of the factors such as shapes of main focus, natures of the margin and existing changes of the tumor which are observed by esophagographic endoscopic findings and other examinations.
Based on this classification, we can predict the degrees of adventitial infiltration (A-factor) and of lymph-node metastases (N-factor) which are important factors concerning the therapeutic plans.
We have been made the therapeutic plans for esophageal cancer using the combination of A-and N-factor which were introduced by our studies. By the obtained results until now, this classification seems to be available clinically.
