The purpose of this paper is to discuss the anastomotic stenosis and dysfunction of the lower esophagus as the late complications after repairing of congenital esophageal atresia. For this purpose the data of 81 cases, including collective one, have been evaluated. And followings are the results;
1) Many cases which have got the radical operation showed the depression of LESP (lower esophageal sphincteric pressure). According to this evidents the development of lower esophagus after the repair may be affect on the LESP.
2) The cases in which the GER (gastroesophageal reflux) were evident showed the depression of LESP.
3) We must take the depression of LESP in consideration as a cause of the regurgitation after the operation of this anomaly.
4) For the cause of the stenosis of anastomotic site GER may be sufficiently considerable, however, these cases seem to be rare in Japan.
