SURGERY OF THE DISSECTING ANEURYSM OF TYPE II WITH ANNULO-AORTIC ECTASIA AND AORTIC INSUFFICIENCY

A case of 20 years old male who had Marfan Syndrome, annulo-aortic ectasia and aortic insufficiency was suffured from type II dissecting aneurysm one month before surgery, and he was successfully operated upon by the Bentall's technique, by which the ascending aorta and aortic valve were completely replaced. During the surgical procedure acute myocardial infarction occurred, and aorto-right coronary bypass grafting was performed by using his saphenous vein graft. He recovered uneventfully, and now he is doing well 5 months after surgery. This surgical procedure was reported and showed by a movie film.
Prognosis of unoperated as well as operated cases of the dissecting aneurysm that were experienced in this Institute were showed, and several important points to performe the Bentall's technique for the surgery of annulo-aortic ectasia were showed and discussed.
