57 cases of breast cancer were divided histologically into two type; The one was the simple type showing one kind of histologic feature and the other was the mixed type consisted with more than two kinds. They were compared in this paper concerning intraductal spreading pattern, n-factor and prognosis and following results were obtained.
1) As regards to intraductal spreading, the simple type extended widely along the milk ducts and the mixed type showed a tendency to localize within a region of palpable tumor.
2) Metastases to the axillary lymph nodes were revealed 46.2% in the former and 93.8% in the latter respectively.
3) The latter showed poor grognoses because of higher recurrent rate than that in the former.
