Many parametric methods have been investigated for immunological activity of cancer patients. It was clearly indicated that the skin tests seemed to be beneficial as immunological parameter in cancer patients in Part I. In this study, the correlation with the other immunological parameters was investigated and discussed for their clinical significance. The following results were obtained.
1) The PPD test was well related with serum albumin level, peripheral lymphocyte counts and lymphocyte responsiveness to PHA.
2) The PHA skin test was directly proportional to serum total protein, and albumin level, but inversely to α1-globulin level.
3) The DNCB skin test was well related to serum total protein, albumin, and lg M level.
4) The higher correlation between the skin test and the other immunological parameters was found in PPD reaction than in DNCB or PHA tests.
The skin tests are very simple and practical for clinical use but it remains still obscure how many types of skin tests should be minimally requested, and further studies into this problem are necessary.
