In reconstruction of the alimentary tract after pancreaticoduodenectomy, the author usually employs a modified Child's method and invaginate the pancreatic stump into the proximal end of the jejunum. In this procedure, pancreatic stump should be covered with jejunal wall. An indwelling plastic catheter is inserted through the pancreaticojejunostomy into the pancreatic duct and the other end of the catheter is led out through the stab wound of the jejunum to the abdominal wall.
